Darby (a.k.a. Dufus, Dumbo, Neanderthal, or sometimes Neandarbthal, in an apparent reference to his exaggeratedly thick beard and mustache), was Coach's videographer for his TPG operations, first in Dallas, and then in Los Angeles after Farrer decided to split up from the operations in Dallas. He together with his wife, Liz, were considered to be Coach's closest collaborators. Some in the watch community speculate that they both are still close to Coach. == Early Life == Darby McVay is a videographer from Dallas, Texas, known for his work with Anthony Farrer’s luxury watch business, The Timepiece Gentleman. His early career background remains largely undisclosed, but he gained prominence in the watch industry through his videography, helping produce content that contributed to The Timepiece Gentleman’s rise on YouTube and social media. == Time with The Timepiece Gentleman == McVay played a key role in filming and editing videos for Anthony Farrer, who was running a high-end watch dealership. While working with Farrer, Darby and his girlfriend, Liz Guilliams, received significant benefits, including a salary, a Corvette, and a $20,000-per-month beachfront house in Santa Monica, California. Despite this lavish lifestyle, Darby’s workload and involvement in the business were questioned by viewers, especially when he expressed doubts about increasing video production. As financial troubles within The Timepiece Gentleman surfaced, with Farrer admitting to being $5 million in debt, McVay initially posted a video claiming he was unaware of the situation. He later deleted the video, clarifying that neither he nor Liz was involved in Farrer’s financial dealings. Following the controversy, they left the company. == Post-Timepiece Gentleman Ventures == After leaving The Timepiece Gentleman, Darby attempted to launch his own watch-dealing business, taking out a $90,000 business loan. However, the venture did not succeed due to inconsistent video production and market challenges. With his finances in decline, McVay’s estimated net worth fell to around -$100,000. Seeking a new career path, he and Liz partnered with an investor in the medical industry. They currently operate a medical clinic in the Las Vegas area. == Personal Life == McVay has been in a long-term relationship with Liz Guilliams, who was also involved with The Timepiece Gentleman as a logistics coordinator for shipping watches. Liz briefly pursued a side business in Scalp Micro Pigmentation (SMP) but did not gain significant traction. Despite setbacks in the luxury watch business, Darby McVay has continued to seek new business opportunities, transitioning from media production to the healthcare industry.
